Ss Peter & Paul, Longhoughton

Here at Ss Peter & Paul Longhoughton we offer a warm welcome to all who might pass through our doors. We are a lively and diverse congregation who enjoy a variety of worship styles and services over our monthly pattern. Our building is Grade 1 listed, and has origins in the Saxon times, but was rebuilt in 1080 with further later editions. It is a fascinating building both outside and inside! We are situated in a growing and thriving community and also serve the small fishing village and former parish of Boulmer, including the RAF base.

We have a strong link with Longhoughton Primary school, who enjoy regular visits to the church and the clergy are often in the school leading Collective Worship. We regularly offer baptisms for local families and love to meet visitors holidaying in the area. Whatever service you attend you are guaranteed a friendly welcome, so why not stay for refreshments? You can find out what is on by heading over to our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LonghoughtonChurch/) or looking at the notices on the board on the street. The church is open daily, so please come in and enjoy looking around, and maybe take time to reflect or pray in this place of rich historical significance.

Sustainability

In light of our recent sustainability survey we are seeking to work with organisations to improve our heritage interpretation and churchyard wildlife value - making our church more open and accessible to visitors. We would love to continue reaching out to our community, both local residents and holidaymakers, finding new ways to share information and be invitational in our mission. Finally, we are exploring options for a new or improved heating system that will be in line with the Church’s NetZero target.
